Gorgeous!

These shoes are so beautifully made, and the design is even better in person! Aside from these oxfords, I have a few pairs of boots from American Duchess, and I have never been disappointed by the fit in a 9.5. However, since the oxfords don't secure around my ankles like the boots do, I have some issues with the width. These shoes are too wide even after I purchased stick-in heel cushions to keep my heels from slipping out. They're great length-wise though, and comfortable for a day of light walking!

Great but a bit darker than pictured

Got these on sale and had to snag them. I do like them, but the color is noticeably darker than the photo -- instead of a brighter blue, mine are solidly dark blue (with perhaps a bit more of a green hue.) The decreased contrast probably makes them wearable with a wider variety of outfits, but if you're looking for a shoe that "pops"... these are great, just less dramatic than I was expecting. (I have Bernadettes in the original style in white/tan as well as cognac/black... the latter one is particularly useful for a statement shoe for a warm color palette.)

On the upside for me, it seems like there might be a bit more room in the toe box than the original style of Bernadettes, but that's my (very subjective) feeling, dependent on my own foot shape -- and I might need to wear them more to know for sure.

Overall they're great just be mindful of the color difference!

The bottom heel fell of...

I love the color of the shoe but after only 2 days of wearing The shoe the heel fell apart on me which was pretty disappointing.

Hi Kathryn,

It sounds like the heel cap came off your Bernadettes. Heel caps are a tricky thing - you want them to be stuck on tightly enough that they don't come off on their own, but not so tight that you destroy the heel trying to get them off when they wear down and it's time to replace them. Different temperatures can cause them to expand or contract, and every now and then one will pop off early due to this. If you're having trouble keeping them in, a small dap of Shoe Goo or Barge will do the trick, but make sure to not use too much!

We add extra heel caps in the box for when they wear down. If you still have the original, you can pop it back on, but if you don't, just use one of the extras.

Amazing!!

These have been my dream shoes for some time now and I finally got the nerve to buy them. I have had them for about 1.5 months now and wear them almost daily. I purchased skid pads to protect the soles and they are doing very well. There is wear on the soles but nothing terrible and they have broken into my foot shape. They are very comfortable and some shoe trees were able to stretch them to the perfect size. I can't wait to wear these for years to come. They are soooooo beautiful.

Adore these

When these first appeared, I hit the preorder SO FAST. The shape! The stripes! The colors -- so hard to choose, but this cognac/black is suitably orangey for my Halloween-loving soul, probably helped along in the eye by the true-orange ribbon laces. So good.

They have been a little bit hard to break in, however. I wore them around the house in thick socks at first, and they kept rubbing at the side of my heel (not the back tendon area, but the side -- an odd spot in my experience). Similar issue wearing them to work with socklets (which also were trying to bunch a little, so I lay the blame more on them than the shoes). However! Maybe the Bernadettes just don't want thicker materials -- wearing them with trouser socks and tights, I've experienced no rubbing or other discomfort. Small inconvenience if they're not so versatile as to work with other sock options, but on the plus side, not permanently uncomfortable, either.

I wear a size 7 and these fit true to size.
