Why sacrifice your vintage style for practicality when you can have both with a great pair of common sense oxfords? A good, solid oxford is a real asset to any vintage fashion enthusiast. Our Claire 1940s Oxfords meet all the requirements of a sensible shoe while also being stylish and unique.

Claire 1940s Oxfords are direct reproductions of an original CC41 compliant "Academy Girl" brand shoe. They meet all the requirements for most military unit dress shoes and are similar in design and decoration to original styles sold as military dress shoes by historic brands such as Red Cross and Lotus.

Claires are constructed of a black calf leather upper, lined in brown pigskin leather, with leather soling and a 1.6 in / 4 cm stacked-look heel, just like the original.

Great fit and comfy

Was really excited to get these today and they did not disappoint! I was a little concerned with ordering a size 11, because the Ghillies around a little bit short in length but they are perfect and if it very nicely. The weather is nice and soft although it does have a little bit more of a reddish tone to it then it looks like in the picture. I’m really excited about wearing these to work.

Fantastic shoes

These shoes fit perfectly and true to size! I wore them for a full day right out of the box without issue so the breaking in process is pretty non-painful. I love that they look like oxfords except with a slight heel. I've always been moderately interested in the look of oxfords but always thought they seems a bit too masculine for my tastes and this slight heel makes the difference for me without being uncomfortable.

Added note, I have bunions and I found the toe box to be the perfect amount of roominess without my foot sliding around and the heel is low enough that I'm not bothered! All around everything I was looking for!

So Comfy and Adorable!

I have chronic pain and other medical conditions that stopped me from wearing cute heels for over 10 years. However, after wearing a pair of The Claire’s shoes, I was in love AND comfortable! They are the most comfortable heels I have ever owned. I wear them everyday at work with no fatigue or pain. I can finally wear heels again. They pair wonderfully with my vintage wardrobe…I just love them and highly recommend!

Practical and Beautiful

I've been looking for a good quality pair of oxfords shoes for a few months, and these are exactly what I wanted. The shape of the shoes is very flattering and fits the shape of my foot well. The leather is beautiful and the heel height and placement are very comfortable. I ordered my usual shoe size, 8, and they fit perfectly. I would highly recommend these shoes!

Stylish, good quality but runs slightly small for me

I always wear size 6.5M (or B) shoes, no matter what the brand is . Based on the prior reviews, I also order 6.5. The shoes came, they look to be of great quality, but, the toe area feels a bit tight for me. I really really wish they fit me like a glove, but regrettably, I have to return them.
