Claremont Women's Retro Oxfords (Brown)

I got the navy Claremonts during the summer sale and love them. The first few wears were only comfortable for 3-4 hours but by the third wear they are all day comfortable. They are good for work and church, and honestly I may wear them on my personal time too. I can barely tell the are 2.5" heels these are so comfortable. I typically have to get "wide" shoes but this is my second AD pair and both fit my width perfectly (I am convinced modern shoe companies are making their shoes narrower). The only thing that makes this shoe less than perfect is that my heel slips the barest bit, I have this problem in my Parkers too and it isn't enough for blisters. I plan on fixing this problem with some moleskin, they fit perfectly just need a touch of friction in the heel.

A perfect pair of oxfords! They're not only aesthetically pleasing, but show evidence of their incredible quality inside and out. The subtle but flattering design elements makes them both versatile, and visually interesting. I ended up wearing them for almost ten straight hours when they arrived, and I was shocked by how well they fit, how quickly they broke in, and how little they irritated my feet. They're a great fit, and are so worth the price.

Been wanting these since they came out and finally got them in March - and now I’m kicking myself for not getting them sooner so I could have worn them all fall and winter! I love the design and they look elegant even on my size 11 feet. The color is gorgeous and the suede is very smooth. They were comfortable right out of the box, shocked my wider feet fit! Just the back rim edge of the heel was a bit stiff and dug into my heel at first so do break them in before walking around all day the first time or you’ll get a blister. If they made 11.5 I would have gotten that for a teensy bit more room and then I could wear thicker socks sometimes too. But believe me, I am very pleased with the fit as is.

PS: I don’t dress in vintage and didn’t get them for that. While I like to dress with a vintagey vibe sometimes, I mostly just mix styles and eras depending on how I feel. These are absolute classics (with a bit of flair from the color to the topstitching) and they really do go with almost everything. They look great with tights and short skirts or with wide leg wool pants or even skinny jeans.

Maybe the nicest gift I've ever received. I cannot overstate how beautiful these shoes are. I do think in real life there's a little more purple hue than it looks like in the pictures, but it's still a rich burgundy. The detail and craftsmanship are excellent. I found the fit just a touch small, but they're still some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, even with the heel. They instantly make me feel special!
