I had been stocking the rainbow version of Esme for MONTHS, waiting for them to be in my size. I usually wear flats so I was emotionally prepared for them to be the pretty shoes I look at but only wear on special occasion. Yall. I wear these EVERYWHERE. They are cute. They are comfy. THEY HAVE RAINBOWS!
Things I was worried about before buying:
1 They have a 2.75 heel - usually anything above 2 has my dogs barking. I can wear these all day. I "broke them in" on the day of my niece's graduation, and packed a pair of flats in case I had to tap out. My friends. We went to the farmer's market, a graduation in a high school stadium (ugh! The stairs!), and multiple graduate parties and my feet didn't hurt.
2 The body of the shoe is black and leather, so they may not be a good choice in summer. Yall. It is the end of June in Las Vegas NV and as I mentioned before: I wear these EVERYWHERE!
3 Wedge shoes can be heavy or have a weird step to them. Nothing to worry about. The heel is wonderfully balanced and not noticeablely heavier than any of my normal/modern shoes. The leather sole gives a nice softness to the toe area so the shoe flexes as the foot moves. (The leather sole can be slick on marble floors or other smooth surfaces but you get used to it.) The body of the shoe holds the foot comfortably and securely. I did change out the cord laces for some flat/ribbon laces and am markedly happier. The cord laces are just bulky enough that after a lot of walking the tops of my feet became aware of the cords.
4 There are rainbows on them, will I really wear rainbow shoes enough to justify the price? I laugh at myself now: did I mention I wear these everywhere?
My current concern is that I will wear out the sole of these shoes and won't be able to find a cobbler to fix them properly. My size comes back in stock I am seriously concise buying a second pair!
