Edith Edwardian Boots (Black)
Description
Introducing Edith, the spool-heeled Edwardian boot you have been dreaming of. Carefully designed and based on antique originals, Edith is accurate to 1890 through 1920. Edith features a custom, curvaceous, and perfectly-balanced 3”/ 7.6 cm French spool heel, which makes an ideal base for our custom last. Edith’s super-soft leather uppers are crowned with a splendidly shaped top, and set off by handsome broguing on the shaft and toecap. The period-accurate curve along the back of the boot gracefully hugs the calf, just like real Edwardian boots. Available in both standard and wide width, Edith fits a wide range of calf sizes. Each pair of Ediths comes with two sets of laces, for increased adjustability. The top of Edith Boots do not extend to the widest part of the calf muscle. Measurements scale slightly based on size.

These boots are by far my favorite shoes, and if I could, I would wear them all day every day. The fit is amazing, and I always get compliments when I wear them.
However, after wearing them almost daily for a year, the leather soles have worn down to the point where they have holes, and they need to be repaired. This issue is not exclusive to this pair of boots, as every pair of shoes I have bought from American Duchess has had this problem. The boots are amazing; just be aware that if you want to wear them as everyday shoes, you might be signing up to pay a lot more money in repairs down the road, and the upkeep can be time-consuming.
We're so glad you like them! Our shoes are fully intended for regular wear, but like any leather soled dress shoe, you should expect to resole them a few times throughout their lifespan if you're wearing them regularly. Especially after wearing them daily for a year, we would indeed expect them to need a resoling - that's quite a bit of wearing time! You can extend the time between resolings a few ways, so chat up your local cobbler for options. The simplest way is to have them apply a half or full rubber sole over an intact leather sole, but depending on your personal gait and wear patterns, they may have other suggestions.
My favorite pair of shoes!!! Super high quality, totally comfortable, and of course beautiful. Can not go anywhere in these without receiving a ton of compliments. So worth it nothing else compares.
I loooove my boots! I did not know though that there is a very light pink lining that kind of shows from certain angles, but I absolutely love that detail! These came with extra-long laces (not pictured) and extra heels :) definitely worth the price. I like how thin the upper leather is. There is still structure but with flexibility. I love my shoes! Going to buy the red pair next <3
These boots are so very comfortable, and beautiful. The curves, the soft leather, the period details... I don't usually wear heels above 2.5" anymore due to spinal issues, but I decided to give these a try, and was super pleased with how easy they are to walk in. I got them in 9W to give my slightly wide feet a little room, and the footbed fit is perfect. The calves are a little big even on my thicker legs, but it works. They're so fun to wear with both historical and modern clothes.
Just like I said. So many lace holes. You need to take your time lacing the boots.
