Description

The unique styling of Elizabethan and Renaissance heeled shoes is brought to life with our Mary. A tie closure, open sides, and a low, practical heel makes these late Renaissance era shoes perfect for both indoor and outdoor fairs and events.

Mary is accurate for c. 1580 through the 1630s. This type of shoe represented the return to heeled styles and was the pinnacle of fashion for the nobility in its early days, but soon became the shoe for everybody. You'll see very similar styles peeking from beneath the hems of petticoats in paintings and prints of this era.

This design was worn by women and men alike, and we have it available in men's sizing, called MarloweThere is crossover between the men's and women's size ranges. Please note that women's standard width is "B" and men's standard width is "D."

Beautiful, well made, comfortable!

Just tried on my new Mary Renaissance shoes (in oxblood) and I LOVE THEM!. The leather quality is amazing as is the stitching. The low block heel adds to their beauty and style. While I’m not into cosplay, etc. I AM into interesting, fun, beautifully made shoes, and these fulfill all three requirements. The oxblood color is rich and elegant. I found them very true to size — I ordered an 8. I’d love these in navy blue and dark green too!

Amazing

They're almost a hundred percent true to size, my only sad part is that I wish it was like ugh, uh, half a centimeter wider in the tow box when I got them.So I didn't have to adjust them slightly, but oh my god, they're amazing.

Love the look and the fit. I usually wear 8 1/2 but opted for 9. They fit length-wise very nicely but are a bit big at the heel. Perfect for wearing with socks but a little loose when wearing without.

Spring colors?

Very practical. Would love these in spring colors or at least paintable white. Wish the leather quality were a bit better. Please find a Brazilian or Portuguese manufacturer.

Renaissance shoes/Mary

Nice wearable shoes. A bit stiff but am sure they will work their way into the comfort zone soon. Secure packing & timely shipping. Thank you!
