Mae Women's Edwardian Shoes (French Blue)

Upon first receiving the shoes, I was concerned with the fastening button as there was roughly an inch difference between the button and the end of the strap. The shoes themselves fit a little snug - but nothing a little stretching would not cure.

Day 2 - after emailing my concerns to AD and seriously considering returning these beautiful green shoes, I was kindly advised to use the button hook. Since I really did not want to return these shoes, I gave the fit another go today and used my antique button hook tool. This tool makes all the difference! I also did not initially realize that the button is actually on an elastic fastener.

These shoes are snug and will need to be stretched.... BUT they are going to work. Other than being tight, they fit my foot well and are feel very stable. For context, I have a pair of size 10 Janets by Oak Tree Farms.

Thinking ahead to my next AD purchase, I will definitely size up to the 10 1/2 size.

I've owned and worn these shoes for a while, I can say they are fairly comfortable, but as others have mentioned the button hook is a must when it comes to putting on the shoes because it has a VERY snug fit to hook in the button. I've tried doing it without and it was very challenging, not impossible, but definitely took more effort than I would like haha

I normally have what I would call wider feet, as I have a good fit for size 9 shoes normally were it not for the width. I usually would have to go up half a size but I find for these shoes, the size 9 fit just right. I can even wear them with some thin stockings or socks.

I get a lot of compliments when I wear these out, I really love the grey tones in the blue!

I bought these shoes for my wedding and absolutely adore them. The only complaint that I have is that I desperately wish they came in wide sizes.

Per their recommendations, I ordered a half size up, and the shoes fit *okay*, but the button closure was still a pretty tight fit. Had I sized up even more, the shoes definitely would have been too long to be comfortable.

I'd really love to buy more American Duchess shoes because the aesthetic absolutely cannot be beat, but I'm reticent to because of fit issues.

Wonderfully elegant and comfortable. It is hard to find shoes that fit a slightly narrow size 10 with high arches, are comfortable, and still look dainty - and these are perfect. I also like the strap placement - it is supportive but keeps my ankles free.

Can confirm a button hook facilitates buttoning these! But without the hook I sink my weight back into the heel of the shoe, nudge the button sideways (so the edge and not the dome is facing up) then fold the buttonhole over the button - push the hole down around the button, and everything pops in place. Hope this description is helpful to someone!

Really pretty, I've never had shoes in this color and it's such a lovely stormy grey blue. If you don't already have a button hook tool, absolutely get one if you buy this style. Even with just one button its immensely faster and easier with the hook.

These do seem to run smaller than all my other AD shoes, esp across the top of the foot. They still fit but they're a smidge tight. (That's the only reason these aren't 5 star.)
