True to size, comfortable; I received many compliments at a recent 1920s Gala
I had spent years putting together a “Transition Period*” afternoon tea outfit (it started with the hat! Purchased 15 years ago). Then I found the dress of my dreams at Antique Wardrobe on eBay.
The perfect event arose: The Tahoe Gatsby Afternoon Tea & Fashion Show. Our table made it a Celebration of Life honoring some of our mothers we lost this year. Their favorite color was purple.
I was going to wear a pair of vintage shoes I already had, but they were “strictly 20’s flapper” not quite right. The outfit deserved perfection.
When I saw the Bellatrix Edwardian shoes in soft Ivory .. I knew they were the ones! I felt like royalty.
The best thing is they will be perfect for many other outfits from Edwardian to late 20’s.

BTW: I have very problematic feet, super high arch, unstable. With American Duchess Shoes, these problems vanish. I had worried about the buttons being cumbersome. They are NOT. AMAZING!

I have problem feet. Plantar Fasciitis and since I broke my ankle about 6 years back I cannot wear very high heels. Besides being beautiful shoes, the heel height on the Bellatrix is very comfortable for me. I found the very easy to button even though I misplaced my button hook. I wore them to a family wedding last weekend and danced for hours in them! (I also have and love the Astoria, Gibson, Balmoral, Kensington, Millie, Renoir, Savoy and Tavistock styles - all beautiful and comfortable for me). I am an 8.5 but buy their size 9 for my somewhat wide feet. I love their shoes!!!
I wear an 11-11.5 wide shoe, and ordered the size 12 Bellatrix shoes in Oxblood. Even though they are a B width, they do not feel too tight on my wide feet. A few spritzes of shoe stretching spray, and they should be good to go! The color is rich and beautiful, and these seem very well made.
These shoes are so elegant. The insides are butter-soft and the French heel is easy to walk on—I’ve worn them several times for a full day and they are as comfortable at the end of the day as at the beginning. Very pleased!
