Amazing!!

After a VERY long time of wanting a pair of American Duchess shoes to go with my historical dresses and much debate on which pair would be best (I love them all), I finally gave in and chose these for their classic look. I was nervous about the fit since I have wide feet and shoes hardly ever work with me. I try my best to avoid purchasing shoes online because I always have to send them back. However, these were perfect! I am typically a size 8 but size up to a 9 if the shoes run small, and that was just the way to go. They don't pinch the width of my feet as most shoes do, and even though I sized up, I have just enough room in the heel and toe. If you have wide feet, definitely buy a size larger than you typically do.
A pricy investment, but entirely worth the money!

These boots are simply lovely!! Really authentic and I love that there are no zippers or modern attributes to these fabulous boots. They look great with Victorian and Edwardian attire for period dress up events but equally well with modern vintage attire in the everyday wardrobe of romantics, sigh, you know who you are ladies

These are awesome. I can wear them all day. I want the black too.

I wore these for a solid 8 hours and they were amazingly comfortable! I am always wary of pointy toes and normally avoid them. The heel is so sturdy and well balanced that on uneven sidewalks I did not have any wobbly moments or buckling ankles. Manhattan is a nice sturdy yet fashionable boot! I wear an 8.5 but for AD boots I always go for a 9. Perfect fit and no squished toes!

These boots are AMAZING! Ordered these as an investment that I could wear with a wide variety of Victorian dresses, being a starting re-enactor and also sick of owning lousy cheap footwear that clogs up the closet. They're beautifully made, and AMAZINGLY comfortable! My feet usually hate high heels, and I tend to get panicky with pointed toes as I really like wiggling my toes about. Well, not these beauties! I tried them on and after sitting around the house for an hour, managed a 45 minute walk on the city sidewalks, plus hauling home the shopping, without as much as a sore toe or stumble on the first wear! That has NEVER been possible with any heeled shoe/boot I've owned. I might just turn these into daily wear boots, they're too nice to only wear with historical dress!
