Step into a pair of our famous Marilyn 1940s Pumps, the quintessential vintage slip-on shoe for the late 1930s, 1940s, and early 1950s. Custom embossed leather uppers emulate the elevated, elegant, and in vogue mock croc pumps of the time. These beautiful reproduction shoes feature a curvaceous sweetheart vamp and rounded toes. Our custom 3"/ 7.72 cm reproduction '40s Cuban heel is stable and perfectly balanced for long-wearing comfort. Named for Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn pairs perfectly with just about every outfit for both day and evening.

These are awesome. Fit was perfect after going down a half size from my flats. They felt very stable and super cute. I have some balance issues, and I never felt insecure or wobbly on these. I also didn't get a single blister or hot spot from wearing them right out of the box for 4 hours. I will definitely purchase these in other colors and look forward to trying other American Duchess shoes. Returns were a breeze and ordering/shipping smooth. Customer Service was also outstanding (I initially shipped to the wrong address, and had sizing issues, they promptly responded to my inquiries).
I’ve been looking for some comfortable black concert shoes and these are perfect! I love that the heel is stable and I can stand in them for hours. Surprisingly they are quite large. I’m always a 7 in every brand including American Duchess but I had to size down to a 6.5 for these. Now that I have the right size, I love them!
I was a little hesitant because they’re taller than I typically buy but they absolutely go perfectly with the current Army AGSU (pinks and greens) uniform. I always get so many compliments when I wear them and they appear to be AR 670-1 compliant. I cut the photo to just my shoes as I do not represent, or intend to represent, the Army or Dept of Defense.
The shoe is well made, good quality, and stylish. Unfortunately I had to give the review a 4 rather than a 5. I wear regularly a 9.5 wide. I ordered the 10M it was very tight. I had to by shoe stretchers to place in the shoes , I hope it will stretch them enough so I can wear the shoe comfortably. I hope these shoes will be offered in the wide width in the future.
It looks like you missed seeing the wide version when making your purchase - we do indeed offer the Marilyns in wide as of Dec 26th 2024! They're on pre-order at the link below. Note that because the Marilyns have low sides and open tops, there's not as much holding the shoe to your foot, so you do want them to start out comfortably snug, as they'll stretch with wear. You don't want them to fall off your feet once they've broken in! Feel free to reach out to info@americanduchess.com for fitting assistance. Once stretched, shoes are not returnable, but if you've not stretched or worn your pair yet you can set up a return if needed.
After having bought several different styles of shoes, I can only say I am blown away by the quality and style. I spent my time debating on whether or not to purchase this style. When I finally decided to buy them, my size was out of stock. I contacted customer service and was told they would be back in stock in February. Needless to say, when they were available earlier, I purchased immediately. I love them. These did require some breaking in but a week of wearing them around the house has them ready for an outside trip. Thank you, American Duchess and keep up the good work.
