Kensington 18th Century Leather Shoes Wide (Walnut)
Buckles sold separately
Description
This classic American Duchess 18th century style is now available in D-width!
Kensington 18th century shoes offer all the sensibility of hard-wearing camp shoes, but are also lovely to look at and comfortable to wear.
Featuring our custom made French heels, and hand-sewn pointed toes, Kensingtons exhibit all the trademarks of shoes historically accurate for the American Colonial period, particularly the Revolutionary War years.
Why sacrifice style for practicality when you can have both? Dress your Kensies up with glittery paste buckles, or dress them down with a simpler buckle design (see latchet sizing information below). Whichever class you represent, camp follower to aristocrat, your feet will be as well-dressed as the rest of you.
Kensington do not come with buckles, but you can find our 18th-century shoe buckles in the accessories section. Please read our Buckle fitting instructions or watch our shoe buckle fitting video for more information.

Shipping was SO fast! The shoes are absolutely beautiful and fit comfortably. (9.5 wide) I found the video explaining the buckle attachment fairly easy to follow. I re-watched parts of it several times and in slow motion to ensure I was doing it correctly. I’d highly recommend these, and based on the quality, any pair of shoes from American Duchess!
I lost my burgundy Kensington in a car fire. I cant wait for the new ones yo come. #favoriteshoesEVER
My shoes are great. I've been wearing them around the house and they feel wonderful. Can't wait to take them out reenacting!
The first pair was a little tight. The seller was very helpful and I exchanged them for a wider pair. Now they fit perfectly.
I bought my Red Kensies in 2012 in the first order.
It’s 2025, and all these years on they are as amazing and comfortable as ever. Every couple of years I take them to my cobbler, who replaces the heel buffer and topy. (I recommend adding a topy to protect the sole.) I can wear them for long days (sometimes 12+ hours) and they’re great. I bought the red Angulus treatment and every few months I do leather care with that.
People I work with love it when I pop on my striped stockings with them and do my ‘witch of the east’ style.
I love them so much, that years later I repurchased them in black. Another review on them coming! These are my favourite AD shoes. (And trust me, I have MANY!)
