Description

Alpen Retro Winter Booties are just the fashionable footwear you need for your winter vintage outfits. These booties are based on original Montgomery Ward overshoes, also known as galoshes, but are made as regular boots. We've stayed faithful to the velvet upper and houndstooth lining, opting to use ethically sourced sheepskin trim and leather foxing and heel. These beautiful boots are cozy and practical for winter wear, with rubber soling.

    I'm a size 9 in Renoir and Alpen. Perfect fit. However with Marilyn I need a size 8. I wore these booties with stockings on a rainy night out and my feet were cozy and dry all night. They go with everything.

    I am a unwavering 7.5 and have never had issues ordering shoes online in the past. I ordered the 7.5 and had to return them. They were out of 8s so I ordered an 8.5 and I'm glad I did! They fit perfectly. Other than the sizing issues, the shoes are gorgeous and the return process was easy. I wish the green shoes came with a white/cream trim option! I will likely buy this shoe in other colors but am hesitant to order other styles until I know if the sizing runs this small with their other styles. If you're looking to order these, do it, but go a full size up!

    As many folks look at reviews for sizing guidance, we do have to note that for most folks, ordering a whole size up would not be recommended. Our extensive data analysis of orders and return reasons shows that for most people find that they fit true to size, and when people order a whole size up from their usual size in heels, they almost always return them! Of course, feet are complex objects and everyone has different shapes to their feet, which might explain why your feet in particular might require a size up in some styles.
