I want to love them but quality is questionable…

I’ve been wanting a pair of American Duchess oxfords for several years and finally made the purchase this month. I have wider feet but they’re super comfortable and hold my feet nicely. But, I've only worn them for 4 days, and the soles in the bottom are already scraping off! I’m just walking on normal pavement and floors. It is scraping off to reveal the bottoms. Also the heel is already starting to wear down!! I’m really surprised at the quality. I was expecting a lot better quality so I’m super disappointed:( I wanted to order the Edwardian boots but I’m not sure I will now.

We're glad you love the style! To put your mind at ease, the soles aren't wearing through; the thin spray coating of water resistant sealant scuffing off on pavement, which is going to happen when any thin coating meets rough ground. The coating is a darker color than the leather sole, so it can look alarming! Not to fear, though, the leather sole is fully intact and the integrity of the shoe is solid. The heel caps look fully intact and normal with not much wear; they are meant to take all the wear and tear so the heel doesn't, and be replaced as needed. Perfect fit shoes

I have a wide feet. It is very hard to find the right fit for my feet. I ordered size 8.5 W. They are true to size. The design is beautiful! Great quality leather shoes!

Not wide enough for a wide size.

This is my second pair of this shoe, both size 10 W. I also have them in tan The reason I am slowly trying to acquire an entire shoe wardobe from this company is the availability of wide sizes. Unfortunately, the black version of the shoe, despite being listed as a wide size, is more narrow than the tan. I hope it will stretch with wear, and that this is an anomaly, because I truly love this company's shoes.

We're glad we can offer wide sizes! Keep in mind that leather shoes stretch with wear; we would expect a new pair (the black) to fit more snuggly than the pair you purchased two years ago (the tan) and have been wearing - the tan will have softened and stretched out and will feel bigger.

Adorable and comfy

I’ve been looking at these for years and just couldn’t justify them. But they’re wonderful. Only worn them a few times and already so comfortable despite being leather. I have a high arch and wide ball, but these fit beautifully.
